Accessibility is a priority in the WordPress Community. WordCamp Boston is making an effort to be accessible to as many people as want to attend. Read on for more information about the services\u00a0we’re offering.<\/p>\n

Wheelchair Accessibility<\/h3>\n

WordCamp is held on the second and third floors of the George Sherman Union (see our location page for information getting here<\/a>). There is an elevator in the cafe (to the left when you\u00a0come into the space) which will take you into the networking & sponsor area.<\/p>\n

Handicapped parking passes are available on request – leave a comment when you’re buying your ticket, or drop us a note<\/a>.<\/p>\n

CART (live captions)<\/h3>\n

Every session this year will also have a stenographer providing Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) services.\u00a0CART provides a transcript of a speaker\u2019s words in real-time, available on a screen next to the presenter, or on your own device.<\/p>\n

Priority\u00a0Viewing Areas<\/h3>\n

Each\u00a0session room will have a row or section of seats near the front reserved\u00a0for\u00a0anyone who needs to be close to the CART screen and\/or presenter.<\/p>\n

Large-Print Schedules<\/h3>\n

While everyone’s badge will have the schedule printed inside, these small schedules can be hard to see. If you need it, we’ll have large-print schedules at the registration desk. You can also always check\u00a0the schedule on your phone, tablet, or computer.<\/p>\n

RTF Format Schedules<\/h3>\n

We\u2019re also offering the schedule in RTF format for downloading. You can download the Saturday Schedule in RTF<\/a>, or the Sunday Schedule in RTF<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Quiet Area<\/h3>\n

If you need a break from the bustle of WordCamp, we have a space for you. This\u00a0room will be set aside from the rest of the session rooms, and will be available for anyone who needs to take a break.<\/p>\n

Nursing Mothers Area<\/h3>\n

We\u2019ve arranged a private nursing mothers’\u00a0room for women who need a private space for breastfeeding.<\/p>\n

Afterparty<\/h3>\n

See the afterparty page for full details<\/a>.\u00a0This space is wheelchair accessible, we’ll be on the ground level inside and on the patio.<\/p>\n

Preview the Space<\/h3>\n

Sometimes it’s easier to think about going somewhere when you already know what it looks like.\u00a0Most of the event takes place on the second floor, but there\u00a0is also space on the third floor.<\/p>\n
