Since its inception, WordPress has been known as a great platform for blogging, and it is, but the power of WordPress goes so far beyond the blog. WordPress is a powerful platform for building all sorts of web applications, and we’ll talk about leveraging its’ power.
This talk will be 75/25 theory and code—we’ll talk about why you might want to build your app on WordPress as opposed to other PHP frameworks, we’ll talk about ways to leverage the power of posts and users, we’ll talk about when it’s appropriate to create your own tables versus WordPress meta data, and we’ll talk about using the MVC pattern within WordPress.
