Organizers

WordCamp Boston is a community-driven conference, organized by volunteers with assistance from the WordPress Foundation. Many many volunteers work in advance of the event, at the event, and after the event to make it all happen.

That said, these are the folks who form the core organizing committee for WordCamp Boston 2011. You can also follow the team on twitter.

Kurt Eng :: is a biochemist/biomedical engineer by training. When not researching cancer biology or programming robot, he can usually be found at the Boston WordPress Meetup, LiveWP.tv or gaming!  While consulting WordPress in his free time, Kurt also finds time to cook, run and garden.
John Eckman :: is a Digital Strategist at ISITE Design, a digital agency serving clients from offices in Los Angeles, Boston, and Portland OR. ISITE Design’s mission is to teach clients to thrive in the digital age. They also produce the CMS Myth, a blog covering the challenges organizations face in implementing content management systems and how to overcome them.John is also the primary developer of WPBook, a plugin for integrating your WordPress blog with Facebook, and blogs at Open Parenthesis and Goatless.
Erick Hitter :: is a Boston-based web developer with Oomph, Inc. specializing in complex WordPress implementations for high-traffic sites, including several on the WordPress.com VIP platform. He is also responsible for the company’s BuddyPress projects and is a core contributor to WordPress. Erick has created a number of plugins available from the official repository, including WP Print Friendly and View All Posts Pages, as well as the WordPress.com VIP External Permalinks plugin.
James Coletti has over 10 years experience developing applications for the web, and more recently mobile devices. He has been using WordPress since version 1.5 and founded the Boston WordPress Meetup in 2008, a community devoted to bringing WordPress fans together to network and share knowledge. James is a principal at Modal Machine, a new firm that offers WordPress consulting, theme and plugin development services, and provides an exclusive and scalable WordPress-centric hosting solution to clients. James continues to evangelize WordPress as it evolves into a powerful content management system.
Reiko Beach is a Principal at TRB Design, Inc. Since 2002, at TRB we had been using WordPress for building websites for 3+ years when we figured out that it was a complete CMS system and not just a blogging platform. We believe that WordPress is the most powerful and most user friendly CMS platform for small business owners and individuals. As a company we offer web marketing, website creation, content development and video for the web. We blog consistently on The Non-Profit Toolbox and run The Gymnastic Minute channel on YouTube. When we talk about web marketing it’s because of doing it as successful video production company, years of marketing know-how, with years of personal experience in marketing products on the web through our GymSmarts line of products. Reiko has spoken about using WordPress at Podcamp, Western MA, Podcamp NH, and GeekGirl Camp.
Andrea Rosmarin
Andrea Rosmarin is Senior Manager, Corporate Event Marketing at Oracle. Specialties include conference and sponsorship management in the real and virtual world. Expertise across the full event toolkit — content development; negotiations and decision-making; forecasting, budgeting, and financials; demand generation; vendor and partner relations; social media; program reporting, analysis, and ROI. Her work has included high tech, health care, telecom, software, and early on, working with one of the first ever platforms bringing together the hospitality industry from around the globe to be able to market, sell, and deliver various business products to the Fortune 100.
Jon Bishop
Jon Bishop is a Web Developer at AMP Agency with a love for writing open source code and playing with the latest web technologies. Jon maintains a few plugins in the WordPress plugin repository and spends the rest of his time blogging at JonBishop.com and the AMP Agency blog.
Matt Ulvila has been in the design business since the age of 16 when he started as intern with a local design studio. After graduating from Keene State College in New Hampshire, Matt continued to hone his design skills becoming a production and Photoshop expert. He enjoys helping his clients through the conceptual phase to reach the best solution for their needs. An avid consumer of online media and general gadget geek, Matt helps his 3thought clients to see their marketing efforts in a larger strategic context.
Shea Baker began her design career designing play posters and working at a sign shop while still in high school. She attended Rochester Institute of Technology and graduated with a BFA in graphic design and an AAS in illustration. In her career, she believes she as worked on most every type of design project imaginable from logos and websites to t-shirts and ice cream trucks. At 3thought, Shea works with clients to help then find their “visual voice” and create marketing solutions that are both distinct and practical.
